Mercedes To Skip 2020 New York Auto Show

The policies of major auto shows are changing, to see the various changes made by the organizations to maintain the interest of the public. However, automakers are also changing their strategies, with many companies moving away from participating in these shows. This is particularly the case of Mercedes –Benz, which skipped the New York Auto Show 2020 next year.

This move from manufacturer of Silver Star is part of a broader strategy, which aims to reach customers more directly, more locally and above all, by using Social media and other different digital Platforms.

In response about the skipping of New York auto show by Mercedes, the president of the New York Auto Show, Mike Scheinberg Said, “we hope that the absence of Mercedes-Benz will be temporary”.

Mercedes-Benz is not alone in adopting this strategy like this; Volvo has, for several years, specified that the presence in the various auto show events of the world are now optional. The Swedish Company has not been presence in New York Auto Show for Several years.

BMW follow the same path, trying to prioritize local events that would allow consumers on the road to test vehicle in real conditions rather than looking inside them in a living room. This strategy will increase the sales of these brands. Audi was also absent from the last Detroit show.
