Global Markets: Asian Shares Edged Higher, Yen Eases

Asian markets edged higher on Monday as they are heading towards the event-packed month headlined by US inflation data and the first house testimony by the new head of the Federal Reserve.

The safe-haven yen lost the ground due to a modest improvement in the risk appetite. Outside Japan, the MSCI’s broadest index of shares firmed 0.3 percent.
