New Toyota C-HR 2020: Hybrid SUV Raises Power
Restyled and modernized after four years of experience of the previous model in the market, the new Toyota C-HR 2020 is more powerful and reliable than the previous version
Sage, the Yaris has brought the hybrid era to Toyota’s Classic models. The first model of this hybrid car came in 2016 and its previous model of the crossover was second-best among its league, with more than 20,000 copies sold in 2018. After four years of career, the brand now offers a restyling with a series of updates and especially a new engine.
Minor Changes in Look of C-HR:
The C-HR is still very current. No need to see this vehicle in-depth, Toyota did some minor changes like lower grip is slightly enlarged, the fog lights move to the sides and there is a slight change in the position of the headlights. Elsewhere, no change except the appearance of the taillights .
The anterior has also not inherited big changes, Toyota having leaned on the multimedia system. The manufacturer does not indicate which version comes to enrich its model but specifies the Smartphone compatibilities Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Remote updating will also be possible for GPS navigation maps. Another improvement according to the Asian firm, the C – HR has better soundproofing and isolates vibrations better.
New Hybrid Engine 184HP:
Released in hybrid only with the group 122 hp equipped with the 1.8-liter petrol and electric 72hp, the Toyota C-HR welcomes a second offer. It is the hybrid group 184 hp already by Corolla.
The engine, dubbed “Hybrid Dynamic Force” consists of the 152hp /190Nm 2-liter petrol engine and an electric motor offering 80kW (109hp) of power 202 Nm of torque. The transmission always goes through by CVT continuous variable box.
The company didn’t tell us about the performance of the crossover in its 184hp version. We can, however, estimate the 0-100 km/h in 8 seconds, against 11 seconds on the 122hp version. Toyota reports CO2 emission of 118kg/km in the WLTP cycle, down to 92g/km in correlated NEDC. It retains CO2 emissions of 86g/km but specifies 109g/km in the WLTP cycle, more realistic.
Price:
The Toyota C-HR should not significantly change its prices. Currently, it is announced as its price will be € 29,300. The 184hp hybrid variant should, like the Corolla, 2000 euros more increase in price than the 122hp version.
