Main Cause of Car Engine Sounds and Noisiness

Vehicles such as cars must be maintained regularly. If not, your car will have a lot of problems, one of which is the sound of a rough and noisy car engine. This condition is annoying and makes your trip uncomfortable. Besides being uncomfortable to drive, a noisy car engine will also disturb the people around you. This makes many car users want to find ways to keep the car engine running smoothly. You must know the cause of a rough and noisy car engine. This is the review:

Engine Valve:

Engine valves can be one of the causes of a rough and noisy car engine. This is because the valve stem is made of metal and can expand when exposed to heat. Therefore, you should provide a gap in the engine valve with a rocker arm measuring about 0.2 mm to 0.3 mm. When adjusting it, make sure the valve clearance is not too tight because it can cause a sound due to the valve stem pressing the valve. A distance that is too wide is also not recommended because both will cause noise due to rubbing against the rocker arm. For this reason, it is highly recommended that you adjust the valve gap periodically to minimize the occurrence of a shift in the valve gap to be tighter or wider.

Knocking:

Knocking can be one of the causes of a rough and noisy car engine. This happens because of incomplete combustion due to the use of fuel whose octane rating is less or inappropriate. In addition, it can be caused by dirt that settles in the combustion chamber. The rough sound that causes knocking usually resembles typing when the engine temperature starts to rise. We recommend that you use a fuel that matches the recommended engine and octane.

Low Engine Oil:

An engine that lacks oil will be less than optimal in reducing friction between components in the car. When the performance is not optimal, a rough engine sound source appears in your favorite car. Engine noise due to lack of oil is usually heard at the top of the valve settings. This can also occur due to an oil leak or a worn piston condition.

Car Bearing:

When your car is heard buzzing continuously and gets louder as the RPM goes up, it is certain that the cause is bearings. There are many kinds of bearings in cars, so sometimes it is difficult to determine what type of bearing is the problem such as tensioner, alternator, idler, and others. Make sure you take it to a repair shop to have it repaired using a machine.
