Detroit Motor Show 2019: Toyota Supra, RC F Track Edition, and More

Many automakers are gearing up to demonstrate their latest creations as the first major motor show of 2019 opens in Detroit.

The North American International Auto Show kicked off in Detroit with a number of big announcements.  The unofficial theme of the show looks to be sports cars, with both Subaru and Ford unveiling their most powerful road models to date.

More announcements will follow in the next few weeks.

Here are the some of the best new cars debuted in Detroit so far.

  • Ford Shelby GT500

The Ford Shelby GT500 became the limelight as Ford unveiled its most powerful production car yet.

The new car is based on Ford’s Mustang muscle car. It is powered by a hand-built 5.2-liter supercharged V8 engine churning out more than 700bhp. Along with the new engine, it gets a basal design overhaul that includes the addition of a more angular front bumper with a larger grille. And a revised carbon-fiber wing roosted above the boot.

  • Lexus LC 500 Convertible concept

Lexus released its grand tourer early last year. The LC500 convertible is a drop-top version of the Lexus grand tourer.

  • Lexus RC F Track Edition

Toyota’s Luxury Marquee unveiled its new RC F Track Edition which will go nip and tuck with the Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe and BMW M4 CS.

  • Subaru STI S209

Subaru STI s209 will be the first of its kind to be unveiled in US showrooms as the Japanese automaker has traditionally reserved it for the Japanese market. However, it will not be available in the UK.

  • Toyota GR Supra

The wait is over for Toyota Supra fans as the new version of the Japanese sports car was put on display. It uses the same production platform as the new BMW Z4. It also features the 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six engine, producing 335bhp and 362lb ft. of torque, of the Z4. Thanks to this power package, it achieves 0-62mph in just 4.3 seconds.
