Dollar eases as Focus Shifts to Fed meeting; Yen Gains
The US dollar eased against most of its peers on Monday as investors turned their attention to this week’s Federal Reserve Policy meeting, with traders laying bets policymakers will signal a pause in their tightening cycle.
The US dollar fell 0.16 percent in contrast with offshore yen to 6.7407. The rise in the Yuan also fueled the Australian dollar, which gained 0.26 percent against the dollar to $0.7201.
The dollar index was lower at 95.679 after falling 0.8 percent on Friday. The Japanese yen added 0.17 percent at 109.34 against the dollar.
