5 Shiny Shanghai Auto Show Highlights
There were a large variety of vehicles at the Shanghai Auto show. Here are some interested concepts from the show floor.
- Singulato
Singulato is licensing the EQ platform which was originally used in Scion iQ and then in Aston Martin Cygnet. To get Singulato, take a Toyota EQ, strip away Toyota’s obsolete powertrain and put in a lot of new technology. The company wants to commence production in early 2021
- Icona
The main vehicle at the Icona booth was Nucleus. It is supposed to represent a possible way to build a Level 5 autonomous vehicle. However, Nucleus is not new. It first debuted at Geneva Motor Show in 2018 and later made an appearance at the Log Angeles auto show last fall.
- Wey
Wey is a sub brand of Great Wall that focuses on SUVs. The company displayed an all-electric concept at the show that is called the X. The automaker has mounted this vehicle with a ton of high-end tech like facial recognition and a screen instead of a grille. I t has a range of 710 kilometers (440 miles) on one charge.
- AiWays
There were many electric SUVs in Shanghai, but only a few of them might someday find a home outside of china. Wey is one, but the AiWays seems to be a step ahead.
