2019 Honda CR-V Recalled as Airbags May Accidentally Deploy
Honda has announced the recall of an estimated 118,598 Honda CR-V vehicles to fix the problem of airbags that may suddenly deploy. The airbag issues have been the carmaker’s main dilemma since 2013 as part of the Takata airbag recall incident, which affected other car brands as well.
Honda values safety of its customers. It is why the company is continuously working to repair the defective airbags of Takata and makes a new call to review their vehicles. This time it is Honda CR-Vs which are built from October 3, 2018 through April 1, 2019. The vehicles are totaled to about 118,000 CR-Vs in the US and another 19,000 in Korea and Canada.
So far, no reports have emerged of the related CR-V crashes due to the airbags that can suddenly deploy for no reasons. However, the carmaker is aware of six reported unprompted airbag deployments incidents, and three of them included injury claims.
