Eco Models under Limelight at Indonesia Auto Show

Motorists are getting a glimpse of the future as the automakers display their latest products at Indonesia International Auto Show.

The event started near Jakarta on Thursday with 30 companies from China, Europe and Japan taking part.

One of the biggest attractions this year is eco-friendly models as more countries including Indonesia, adopt stricter emissions policies to combat air pollution and other environmental problems.

Mitsubishi revealed a plug-in hybrid model ahead of its launch in November. Other manufacturers including Mercedes-Benz and Toyota are also featuring fuel-efficient, low emission vehicles, hoping to grow their market share in Southeast Asia’s largest car market.
