Toyota, Japan to launch Huge Moon Rover for Astronauts in 2029
In the next few years, the astronauts could be cruising around the moon inside a Toyota Vehicle.
Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and automaker signed a three-year agreement to jointly develop a pressurized lunar rover, which will embrace fuel-cell electric-vehicle technologies.
Toyota establishes a new department called Lunar Exploration Mobility Works on July 1 and plans to have about 30 people working there by the end of the year.
Launch would follow in 2029.
