Toyota to Reveal Solid State Battery-Powered Car Next Year

Japanese automaker Toyota will demonstrate a vehicle powered by solid-state batteries at the 2020 Olympics as the company aims to showcase its battery capability. It was revealed by the firm’s chief technology officer Shigeki Terashi ahead of the Tokyo Motor Show.

The Olympic show car is expected to be based on the Toyota e-Palette, an autonomous platform developed by the company which it is offering to partners to use to display their self-driving technologies.

Toyota is expected to showcase an updated version of e-Palette at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show.
