Chinese Factories Startup While the Rest of the World Closes
BEIJING / SHANGHAI - While a large part of world production stops due to the coronavirus, China is slowly emerging from its closures by restarting production in factories and resuming certain flights. A recovery in the world's second-largest economy is bringing some relief to global manufacturers in the coming months as the epidemic continues to wreak havoc in Europe, the United States, India, and Latin America. Employees return to work, production lines begin to roll, and even Wuhan's original epicenter soon ends its lockdown. Auto sales in China likely bottomed out last month and are expected to gradually rebound as the spread of the virus slows and consumers return to shopping, an auto industry group said this month.
