The Consumer Reports Study Found that Electric Vehicles Suffer from Reliability Problems
According to a recent Consumer Reports' latest reliability survey, many new electric vehicles have reliability issues that are difficult to recommend. In the organization's most recent survey, port data revealed that the Audi e-Tron, Kia Niro EV, and Tesla Model Y are some of the electric cars that bother consumers the most.
E-Tron owners have reported electrical defects in propulsion systems and problems with some of the vehicle's electrical equipment. Owners who recently purchased the Niro EV report that they have to replace the bearings in the electric motors. The problem was bigger with Y, which suffered from build quality problems, including painting problems and alignment problems. Tesla's below-average build quality has been extensively documented, but still appears to be an issue for electric brands.
