Volkswagen May Change Its Name to 'Volkswagen' to Reflect its Commitment to Electric Vehicles
Along with Volkswagen's pledge to build millions of electric vehicles, the company may be in the process of acquiring a new name. According to a press release that accidentally entered online Monday, the automaker is believed to have changed its name to "Voltswagen". The press release has people scratching their heads wondering what Volkswagen is up to. German carmaker Volkswagen has published its bold electric vehicle plans in recent years to compete with electric vehicle pioneer Tesla. Earlier this month, the automaker announced plans to electrify 70% of its global model lineup by 2030. In the United States and China, Volkswagen is targeting 50% of its vehicles to be fully electric by 2030.
