In May Electric Vehicles Sales of Ford Motors Increases 184%
Ford's electric vehicle sales grew 184 percent during the month of May, setting a new electric vehicle sales record of 10,364 vehicles. Ford's electric car sales, which include all electric and hybrid models, were driven by the Mach-E electric SUV, the automaker's first electric vehicle. Ford reported sales of the 1,945 Mach-E SUV last month. Other Ford electric vehicles include the F-150 PowerBoost and Escape Hybrid. Ford said reserves for electric trucks have so far exceeded 70,000. Across the Ford brand, the automaker sold 836,851 vehicles so far in 2021, compared to 753,518 at this time last year. Ford's overall vehicle sales increased 11.1% for the year. Ford's strong sales figures in May have also pushed its share price to its highest level in six years. On Friday, Ford shares closed at $15.97, representing an 87.4% increase from early 2021.
