Tesla Claims To Resolve Heat Pump Issues in Model Y & 3
Electric car maker Tesla is tackling its share of challenges in the new year despite strong deliveries last year and in the fourth quarter through the end of 2021. Transport Canada, which regulates the county's transportation industry, was bombarded with 16 complaints from Tesla owners claiming heat pumps in many offerings. The Tesla didn't work in sub-zero temperatures. For example, a faulty heat pump in a Tesla Model Y will not prevent the windshield from freezing in extreme cold. It also won't fog up the windshield if needed. Tesla said it will fix the bug that caused the heat pump to malfunction with a software fix. It remains unclear whether Tesla will offer compensation to vehicle owners in need of a new heat pump, or any damage that this failure could cause.
