Car TVs Are Banned In USA, Allowed In Japan
There is no doubt about the popularity of the Japanese term “Digi-Navi” used for the navigation systems capable of receiving the transmission of digital TV while sitting in a car on the roads of Japan. Through this, it has become really usual for the Japanese drivers to tune into their favorite channels while driving.
Even Kaori Hirata the journal of Wall Street said the she watches morning news shows when driving from home to her workplace.
Well, if we look technically, it is illegal under the law to stare it at in the screen of car but more crucially it is also not against the law to have a glance at one even live transmission of TV feed. Police of Japan said that it is largely unenforceable.
On Yahoo online discussion, a questioner asked a question in one of the Japan’s popular chat rooms that if the use of mobile is prohibited during driving then why watching TV is allowed. In the response to that question someone said that if I watch a driver watching TV in the car, I try to put as much distance as I can to avoid any kind of accident.
Automobile Association of America’s digest of laws for motor has banned the TV in vehicles that is visible to driver and now the function of TV is only available in Japanese models. One of the best car navigation system manufacturer Pioneer Corp also has no plan to introduce TV tuner in The U.S. Jaed Azadon, a spokespersons of Long Beach company said that Japanese have many things in Japan that we would never bring here in U.S.
