Dollar Close to Highs, Spain Crisis Pressures Euro

Dollar closes to highs while European currency suffered losses due to crisis in Spain.

Dollar index dipped 0.2 percent to 94.775 but remained close to Friday’s three-month high of 95.150. Euro showed its worst performance in 11 months. European currency inched 0.1 percent higher to $1.1614, after plumbing a three month low of $1.1574 on Friday.
