The US Dollar Just had its Worst Year Since 2003 and 2018 Could Bring More of the Same
The ICE dollar index fell nearly 10% in 2017. It is said to be the biggest annual decline since 2003 when the US dollar fell almost 15%.
The rise of Euro was a big part of Dollar’s decline in 2017. The Eurozone enjoyed its best economic year in a decade and the traders piled on bets that the currency would continue to climb. In the previous year, the US dollar weakened by more than 12% against the Euro in the year.
