Mazda Claims Its Next Generation Combustion Engine Will Be Cleaner Than an EV

Mazda is working on a new engine that it claims will be as clean as an electric vehicle. It is called Skyactiv-3.

As of now, Mercedes-AMG's Formula 1 team holds the most thermally efficient automotive internal combustion engine. It has an efficiency of 51.

If Mazda succeeds in making a mass-production internal combustion engine that achieves more than 50 percent efficiency, it will be an incredible feat.
