Nissan Admits Falsifying Emission Data at Plants in Japan
Staff at some of the Japanese automaker’s plants falsified emissions and fuel-economy data, Nissan said, in what is the latest data-faking incident among Japanese automakers.
The way the tests were conducted was against the prescribed norms, the automaker said in a statement on Monday. According to the automaker, employees also filed inspection reports based on altered measurements.
The Japanese car maker communicated its findings to Japan’s Ministry of land, infrastructure, transport, and tourism.
