Honda Poised To Pass Renault for Power

Honda could be gearing up to overtake Renault and fizzle out having the least powerful engine in the Formula 1.

According to reports, the Japanese automaker will introduce the third version of its 2018 power unit. Honda’s Spec 3 engine will be 26kW (35hp) more powerful than its current one. It will relegate Renault to the last place in power stakes.  

Red Bull is switching to Honda power for 2019, joining the junior team Torro Rosso in using the Japanese-designed power units.
