To Accelerate Manufacturing and Development Process of EV Batteries Ford Motors Co Stated to Build Ford Ion Park
US automaker Ford Motor Co is gearing up for an electric future with the opening of a new EV battery R&D center. The company announced Tuesday that Ford is investing $ 185 million in a new global battery hub called "Ford Ion Park" in southeast Michigan. This facility will help automakers accelerate research and development in EV battery and battery cell technology, including the manufacture of future battery cells. The 200,000-square-foot learning laboratory will include equipment for the design and manufacture of electrodes, cells and arrays. The lab will use cutting-edge technology to test new manufacturing techniques that will enable Ford to rapidly devise breakthrough battery cell designs that can provide longer range and faster charge times.
