New Toyota Patent Would Let Cars Spray Thieves with Tear Gas

The Japanese automaker Toyota has filed a patent for a personalized fragrance dispenser system.  The patent includes a system that will release the tear gas into the car. Simply, the car can spray their favorite scent when it recognizes someone as an authorized user. On the other hand, the nasty gas is piped in when the vehicle detects an illegitimate engine start.

It seems a new way of thinking in the fight against carjackers. Smoking them out with nasty tear gas would likely keep anybody from being able to drive your car away.
